Using Up Scraps

I've seen several cards around like this one and I decided to make one myself.  I really like the layout.  However, sometimes plans change...I decided I wanted to use my 1-3/8" square punch for the patterned paper, so I built my card around that idea.  It's a cute little card that doesn't require much paper or effort!

The card is 4-1/8x8-1/4, scored at 4-1/8 and then 1 inch cut off of one side.  Rather than making the DSP part of the card front, it's glued to the base of the card.  The card opens at the scalloped edge.

I still plan on making one of the regular size cards, but I'll save that for another day.

Here's what I used:
  • Stamps:
    • With All My Heart (Occasions Mini)
  • Paper:
    • Soft Suede 4-1/8x8-1/4 Card Base (cut off 1 inch of one side after scoring)
    • Ruby Red Scrap for Heart
    • Whisper White Scrap for Heart
    • Level 1 Hostess Patterns III Paper Pack for Squares
  • Ink:
    • Soft Suede Classic Stamp Pad
    • Ruby Red Marker (I stamped the image on the Soft Suede pad, wiped off the heart and then inked just the heart with my marker.)
    • White Gel Pen
  • Accessories:
    • Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit
    • 1-3/8" Square Punch
    • Modern Label Punch
    • Scallop Edge Punch
    • White Taffeta Ribbon
    • Flower Designer Brads
    • Stampin' Dimensionals
Have a great day!
