Summertime Splendor Thanks

Yes, it's another thank-you card.  Ben has received gifts from friends and family since his surgery, so I've "needed" thank-you cards (a more organized person would have made up some before the surgery).

This is a My Digital Studio (MDS) hybrid card.  The main image is from the Summertime Splendor MDS download.  The rest of the card came together the good, old-fashioned way...cutting and taping.

Do you see the bit of texture on the Night of Navy label?  I came across it by accident.  I embossed a piece of card stock with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and then ran it back through the Big Shot with a Sizzlits die.  I didn't think about the embossing being compressed when I ran it back through, but I liked it just the same.  It's more like textured card stock rather than embossed.

Here's what I used:

Short & Sweet

Bashful Blue
     4x8 Card Base
Night of Navy
     4-1/2x5 for the Scallop Layer
     3-1/2x3-1/2 Square Layer
     Scrap for Greeting Label
Whisper White
     4-1/4x-5-1/2 Main Image
     Scrap for Greeting

Night of Navy Classic Stamp Pad

My Digital Studio Software
Summertime Splendor MDS Digital Download
Silver Brads
Mat Pack & Paper Piercer
SU! Square Lattice Embossing Folder
SU! Lots of Tags Sizzlits 4-Pack
SU! Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die
Large Oval Punch
1/8" Circle Punch
White Taffeta Ribbon
Stampin' Dimensionals

Here's how I created the main image (if you need more specifics, let me know):
  • Start with a 4-1/4x5-1/2 blank greeting card layout.
  • Insert a Photo Box that is 382 pixels x 382 pixels.
  • From the Resource Palette, click on the Designer Paper icon and browse for the Summertime Splendor paper (it's under "Designer Kits").
  • Drag and drop the image of your choice onto your photo box.
  • Print on your color printer.
Have a great week!
