Patchwork Christmas

This card is a combination of several cards I've seen while surfing various blogs. I really like the "patchwork" look for Christmas cards...it has a "homey" feel to me.

To make the patchwork strip, I punched four 1-3/8" squares and adhered them to a 5-1/2" x 1-3/8" piece of card stock rather than directly to the card.  That enabled me to keep them straight and save on ribbon by wrapping the ends around the sides of the strip rather than around the entire card.

Here's what I used:

Stamps:
Contempo Christmas

Paper:
Old Olive
     5-1/2x8-1/2 Card Base
Cherry Cobbler
     2x2-3/4 Layer
Very Vanilla
     5-1/2x1-3/8 Strip for Squares
     Scraps for the Scalloped Borders
Jolly Holiday DSP
     Scraps for 1-3/8 Squares

Ink:
Old Olive Stamp Pad
Cherry Cobbler Marker
Black Stazon Stamp Pad

Accessories:
1-3/8" Square Punch
Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch
Rhinestone
Old Olive Button from the Brights Collection
Linen Thread
Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon
Mini Glue Dots
Stampin' Dimensionals

What's on your holiday "to do" list this week?  I've GOT to make my personal Christmas cards!  Time is running out....

Have a great Monday!
Beth
