Happy Birthday, Sis!

My sister, Leah, is celebrating a milestone birthday this Sunday (and I do mean a milestone).  I wanted to make her an extra special card since I promised her I wouldn't be "mean" - especially since I'm not too far behind her.  I found this card (scroll down a bit) and fell in love with it. I knew it would be just the card for her.

I'm so blessed to have her as my sister.  I have to admit I didn't appreciate her as much growing up because she was older and tended to "mother" me (and she thought I was spoiled....what???).  Now, I can't imagine not having her around to talk to and spend time with.  We don't live close to each other, but when we do manage to spend time together, it really brightens my world.

Here's what I used for the card:

Short & Sweet

Always Artichoke
     5-1/2x8-1/2 Card Base
     4-3/8x3-1/8 Layer Beneath DSP
     Scrap for Scalloped Oval
Very Vanilla
     5-1/4x4 Large Layer
     Scrap for Greeting
Rose Red
5-1/4x4 Framed Tulips Layer (trimmed down after embossing)
     Scrap for Tiny Flower
Springtime Vintage Patterned Paper (Occasions Mini)
3 Strips, 1-3/8x2-7/8 Each (I adhered these to the Always Artichoke piece
and then embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder)

Early Espresso Stamp Pad

SU! Square Lattice Embossing Folder
SU! Framed Tulips Embossing Folder
Large Oval Punch
Scalloped Oval Punch
Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack
