Plane & Simple in Soft Suede

This is a re-make of a card I did last year at a Card Buffet.  I decided to use the same layout but with a monochromatic scheme.  I like "CASE'ing" myself...I don't have to figure out the measurements all over again.  My blog is my "file" of sorts.

By the way, I'm trying out a new system for storing my patterned paper.  I never really liked using the vertical storage boxes, so I came up with something different.  I'm using 12x12 ring page protectors from Stampin' Up!  I can fit a complete pack of SU! DSP in one page protector.  I'm placing the scraps in front where I can see them.  I haven't put them in a binder just yet; they're lying flat in a drawer.  So far, it's working out pretty well and it's not very expensive.

Here's what I used for the card:

Plane & Simple

Soft Suede Card Stock
     8-1/2x5-1/2 Card Base
     4-1/4x5-1/4 Embossed Layer
1/2x6 Piece for Crimped Strip (approx.)
Naturals Ivory Card Stock
     2-3/4x2 Main Image
Elegant Soiree DSP (Retired)

Soft Suede Stamp Pad

Stripes Embossing Folder
Stamping Sponges
Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This is a great masculine birthday card! I love all the brown pp you combined. Sounds like you came up with a great system to store your scraps. I always tried to save bigger pieces and use them on other projects. (Until I threw them away when I weeded my scrapbook stash down last year.):)
