Glimmery Birthday Card

Stampin' Up! has an awesome product called Glimmer Paper.  It's available in red and silver, but wouldn't it be great if it was available in MORE colors?  Jill Olsen, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, posted this wonderful tutorial on coloring silver glimmer paper using re-inkers.  At first I had trouble getting mine to dry - WARNING....this can be a messy process!!  However, I gave it another shot.  This time I added the ink in three different steps.  Layering lighter layers seemed to work better for me.

Another way to color glimmer paper is with Sharpies.  It dries much faster, but some of the colors are a little  different and don't quite match SU!'s color palette.  You do get darker color in much shorter time.

Here's everything I used:

Stamps:
None
Paper:
Melon Mambo CS
     8-1/2x5-1/2 Card Base
     3-1/2x3-1/2 Scallop Square
     4x1 Border
Lucky Limeade CS
     2-5/8x2-5/8 Square Layer
Whisper White CS
     2-3/8x2-3/8 Square Layer
     4x5-1/4 Large Layer
Glimmer Paper
     1-1/4x1-1/4 Present
     Scrap for Bow
     1-1/2 x about 1/4 for the Lid
Cheerful Treat DSP
     4x3 Layer

Ink:
Lucky Limeade Re-Inker
Melon Mambo Re-Inker

Accessories:
Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die
Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch
Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch
Rhinestones
Aquapainter
Satmpin' Dimensionals
