Butterfly Notecards

This is one of the notecards I made for a set I'm selling in my Etsy shop.  I used some of my Everyday Elegance DSP for the piece behind the butterfly, but this card could be made into many different colors with various patterned papers.

To get the butterfly wings to lift off of the paper, I put a mini glue dot behind the center of the butterfly and a small Stampin' Dimensional (cut them down to what you need) on each wing.  I press the center of the butterfly down (using the glue dot) so the wings stand higher than the butterfly's body.  It's a little difficult to see in the picture.

Here's what I used:

Stamps:
None

Paper:
Peach Parfait CS
     7x5 Card Base
     Scraps for Square & Butterfly
Pool Party CS
     Scrap for Scalloped Square
Everyday Elegance DSP
     Scrap for Postage Stamp Punch

Ink:
None
Accessories:
Beautiful Wings Embosslit
Pearl
Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder
Scalloped Square Punch
1-1/4" Square Punch
Postage Stamp Punch

Corner Rounder Punch
Stampin' Dimensionals
Glue Dots

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I just found your blog and was looking through some of your creations. When I came across this one, I couldn't figure out how you punched out the Everyday Elegance square. I know you used the postage stamp punch but I couldn't figure out how (or why) you cut out the triangle indentations on all four sides. I just realized it's the DSP and they way you punch it that makes it look like that. I just tried it and its so cute - gives it a whole new dimension. I love your cards!!
