Baby Boy Card

Most of my friends are out of the "baby" years, and now a few of them are becoming grandmothers!  I haven't made a baby card in awhile, but a dear friend's son and his wife just had a beautiful baby boy...and her first grandson.  This is the card I'm sending to the new parents.  I like using richer colors for baby cards and this color combo somewhat matches their nursery color scheme.

The layout is exactly the same as this card.  I just changed the colors...which are Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Midnight Muse, Naturals Ivory, Early Espresso and Comfort Cafe DSP.  I used Early Espresso scraps for the bear's ears and eyes.  He's also sponged with Soft Suede ink. I also used the Stripes Embossing Folder, Vintage Brads and Linen Thread.

To get the stripes across the front of the card (since the embossing folder is more narrow), place the card stock in the folder with as much covered as possible. Run it through the Big Shot.  Next, shift the card stock over lining up the part that is already embossed with the folder (it will nestle right in) and run it through again.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a great week.
