Baby Shower Invitation

One of my stamping ladies asked me for some help designing baby shower invitations.  She requested some embossing and a card that opens up.  I'm not really into "themes" and I don't own any baby stamp sets, so I decided to work with what I have.  I used Pool Party instead of blue (it's a boy) for a bit of a twist.  It's actually a pocket card, and the shower details will be printed on the insert - see picture below.

I started with a 4-1/4x11 inch piece of card stock.  It's scored at 3 inches and 8-1/2 inches.  The larger flap is the top one.

Here's everything I used:

Stamps:
Short & Sweet (Retired)

Paper:
Pool Party CS
     4-1/4x11 Card Base
     Scrap for Butterfly
Crumb Cake CS
     Scrap for Scalloped Oval
Very Vanilla CS
     4x1-1/4 Scalloped Layer
     Scrap for Greeting
     3-3/4x5 for Insert
2011-2013 In Color DSP Stack (Pool Party)
     4x2-1/4 Striped Layer

Ink:
Soft Suede Stamp Pad

Accessories:
Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
Beautiful Wings Embosslit
Adorning Accents Edgelits*
Adorning Accents Folders
Large Oval Punch
Scallop Oval Punch
Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon
Adhesive Pearls
Stampin' Dimensionals
Sticky Strip

*Tip:  I always cut first and emboss second.  That prevents your embossing from being flattened out when it goes through the Big Shot a second time.  Use post-it notes to hold the edgelit in place when cutting.

Have a great day!
Beth
