Another Christmas Card

How about another Christmas card idea?  This card uses the Evergreen stamp set which is a carryover from last year's holiday catalog.  It's still available for purchase here.  I'll admit this is a non-traditional tree since it's blue and gray.  It reminds me of the silver Christmas tree my Granny Dalton had with the light thing that pointed at the tree and made it change colors.  Remember those?

Below are a few tips for making this card:

-To cut the patterned paper piece at the bottom of the main image, I ran it through the Big Shot using the Apothecary Accents framelit by itself.  I stamped the tree image(s) on the Whisper White card stock and ran it through separate and then adhere the two pieces.

-The silver ribbon is wrapped around the die cut, and then I made a separate bow and adhered it with a mini glue dot.  You'll need to use a mini glue dot to adhere the star as well.

-The background tree is stamped with Smoky Slate ink.  I stamped it off once on scratch paper before stamping on my Whisper White card stock.

-The entire main image is popped up using dimensionals.

Here's everything I used:

Island Indigo Card Stock
     4-1/4x11 Card Base
Whisper White Card Stock
     3-1/2x5 Main Image
Winter Frost DSP Stack (Holiday Catalog)
     4x5-1/4 Large Layer
3x1-3/8 Small Piece at the Bottom
Silver Glimmer Paper
     Scrap for Star

Smoky Slate Stamp Pad
Island Indigo Stamp Pad

Apothecary Accents Framelits
Silver 1/8" Ribbon (Holiday Catalog)
Merry Minis Punch Pack (Carryover....see all three punches here)

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Absolutely LOVE this!! I tend to stay to the traditional colors at Christmas and this would definitely be out of my "comfort zone" but I REALLY like it!!!! :)
