Freshly Made Sketches - #102

I've been thinking about making a card with this bird and the plaid paper from the Sweater Weather DSP.  This week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge was the perfect layout to use.  Here's the sketch:
I didn't add a greeting to my card because it's good to have some "all occasion" cards on hand.  Plus, sometimes less really is more.

Here's everything I used:

Stamps:
Simply Sketched

Paper:
Soft Sky Card Stock
     4-1/4x11 Card Base
Sweater Weather DSP (Holiday Catalog)
     3-3/4x5 Background Layer*
     1-3/4x5 Plaid Layer
Watercolor Paper
     2-3/4x2-1/2 Main Image

*I adhered the DSP background paper to a piece of white card stock so I could wrap the linen thread around it rather than the entire card.

Ink:
Brown Stazon Ink
Soft Sky Marker
Crumb Cake Marker
Blender Pen

Accessories:
Linen Thread
Ovals Collection Framelits
Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack
Paper-Piercing Tool & Stampin' Pierce Mat
Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I think this card is a perfect masculine card as well as being all occasion! The patterned paper goes so well together and the image is framed perfectly on the paper pierced oval. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!

  5. Fabulous card, Beth, great use of the sketch. Piercing the oval to frame the focal point is so effective!
