Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #104

My card today is definitely out of my comfort zone.  I tend to center everything (which can be boring), so making this card was good for me.  Time to step out of the box!  Here's the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #104 sketch:

I used my new Blue Ribbon stamp set.  It was in last year's catalog (and maybe the catalog before that...I can't remember), and I've always passed it by.  However, it caught my eye recently because it's a bit different than what I would normally buy (I'm usually all about butterflies and flowers) AND because it can be used for graduation cards.  Below are the images included in the set.  Cute, isn't it?  It can be used for adults, teenagers and children. It's a pretty versatile set after all.

Blue Ribbon Clear-Mount Stamp Set

To make the card, I used my 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch to punch out the scalloped piece.  It leaves just a little bit of edges, so I trimmed the scallops with my paper snips.  To make the flags for the bottom of the "ribbon," I stamped the reverse side of the DSP with the lower part of the ribbon image.  I used the stamped image as my cutting guide so I didn't have to worry about the stamped edges showing when I flipped it over.
