Try Stampin' on Tuesday - Challenge #136

This is my shot at the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #136.  Below is the original sketch:

I started out thinking I would create a Christmas card (this would look great with a snowflake as the focal point), but then settled on trying to use some products I haven't touched in awhile.

The stamped images are from the Delicate Doilies stamp set, and the gray doily was cut using one of the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits.  I haven't used it a lot because, frankly, I don't have a lot of patience when it comes to poking out all of the little pieces (the price you have to pay for an intricate design).  However, I read online somewhere to try placing a piece of wax paper on the sizzlit first and then your card stock.  Worked like a charm!  Almost all of the small pieces fell out.  I'll definitely be using these sizzlits more often.

Here's everything I used:

Stamps:
Delicate Doilies

Paper:
Smoky Slate CS
     4-1/4x11 Card Base
     3-3/4x3-3/4 Doily
Coastal Cabana CS
     Scrap for Tiny Flower
Whisper White CS
     4x1-5/8 Layer Behind Horizontal Piece
     3x3 Large Doily
     2x2 Small Doily
Eastern Elegance

     4x5-1/4 Large Layer
     4x1-1/2 Horizontal Piece

Ink:
Coastal Cabana Stamp Pad

Accessories:
2-1/2" Circle Punch
1-3/8" Circle Punch
Itty Bitty Punch Pack
Delicate Doilies Sizzlits
Rhinestones
Stampin Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

  4. What a lovely card, Beth. I love those colors together. I agree with you on the sizzlit...lots of work to get those tiny pieces out! I'll have to try the wax paper trick sometime. :) Thanks for playing with Try Stampin' on Tuesday this week.
