A Baby Card CASE

This card is a CASE of Mary Fish's card found here.  Although Mary's card is for a child's birthday, I needed a baby card.  So, I decided to soften the colors just a bit.  When I asked my husband his opinion (I know, risky) he said, "Cute, but those aren't traditional colors."  Thanks for noticing because that's exactly what I intended.  I think changing up the colors from the standard pastel pink, blue, green, etc. gives it an updated feel.

My card looks a lot like the original, but I did change up a few things besides the card base color.  The layout is slightly different with the greeting as part of the framed image, a different stamped image, and the overall frame is a different size.  Plus, I love Mary's multiple layered frames, but I was a little lazy and only did one actual framed layer...the polka dots.

Before cutting out my frame, I layered my DSP on a piece of Whisper White card stock to give it a little more weight.  It helps out with adding the ribbon and the overall sturdiness of the card.  I added a generous amount of Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the polka dot layer to emphasize the window effect.  I cut them in half while still on the packaging sheet to make them go a lot further!
