Hi, everyone! I hope you're having a great Sunday. The sun is finally shining and we have a Carolina Blue sky!
I decided to try and play along with the Freshly Made Sketches #118 challenge this week. I like the nice, clean layout of the sketch:
As I looked at all of the beautiful cards the designers made for challenge, Karren Johnson's use of the ruffled trim really stood out to me. You can see her card here. I just had to CASE that ribbon idea!
I also CASE'd another idea I've seen on a few cards on the Internet. I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to make the layer behind greeting. You simply cut your card stock a hair under 2 inches x 3-1/4 inches. Punch each end with the punch and ta-da...you have a coordinating layer for one of the Chalk Talk Framelits. I'm so glad I took the plunge and purchased this punch. It's got so many more uses than I originally thought.
Just another quick note about how I added the layers. Since the ruffled trim is a little bit thick, I adhered the Baked Brown Sugar/Retro Fresh DSP strip with dimensionals. The greeting layer is adhered with tape at the bottom and a couple of dimensionals at the top.
Here's everything I used for my card:
