Apothecary Art Birthday

This is another example of a neglected Apothecary Art stamp set.  Why do I neglect this set?  It's gorgeous and it even has phrases included.

My guess is that I avoid it because it requires coloring, and I haven't mastered that yet.  However, I'm getting more used to using my blender pens.  Since I wasn't using watercolor paper for this card, I quickly learned that Whisper White card stock will peel very easily if it's too wet.  I found that by making sure I had plenty of ink picked up with my blender pen, I didn't need to go back over the image a second time which kept my paper in good shape.

The pearls in the center of the flowers were actually made with a Viva Pearl Pen.  Like Dazzling Details, it takes a while to dry but is so worth the wait!  When you first apply the liquid, it looks just like white glue.  As it dries, it softens and starts to look just like a pearl.  Unfortunately, we don't carry them, but you can find them on Amazon.

The ends of the greeting banner were punched using the Banner Punch from Sale-A-Bration.  Just insert a strip of paper 1/2-5/8 inches wide into your punch as pictured below:

Here's everything I used:

Crumb Cake Card Stock
     5-1/2x8-1/2 Card Base
     3-3/4x4-3/4 Large Layer
Blushing Bride Card Stock
     5x3-3/4 Large Layer
     4x1/2 Greeting

Soft Suede Stamp Pad

Blender Pens
Labels Collection Framelits
Fancy Fan Embossing Folder
Banner Punch
Festive Paper-Piercing Pack

Now it's your turn.  Go pull out a stamp set you haven't used in a while and rediscover why you loved it in the first place!

  3. Very nice card Beth. And, you're right, I've neglected this set as well. You've done a fantastic job here. Guess i should dust mine off too!

    1. Thanks! There are plenty more I need to dust off!

  4. Beautiful card Beth ~ as always, you have the eye for just what will work well together. Can't wait to dust off the dust on all my stamps, even the ones packed away. :)

  5. Lovely card, Beth. I love the fact that this punch is 'sideways'. Made many banner tails with it.
