Apothecary Art Birthday

This is another example of a neglected product...my Apothecary Art stamp set.  Why do I neglect this set?  It's gorgeous and it even has phrases included.

My guess is that I avoid it because it requires coloring, and I haven't mastered that yet.  However, I'm getting more used to using my blender pens.  Since I wasn't using watercolor paper for this card, I quickly learned that Whisper White card stock will peel very easily if it's too wet.  I found that by making sure I had plenty of ink picked up with my blender pen, I didn't need to go back over the image a second time which kept my paper in good shape.

The pearls in the center of the flowers were actually made with a Viva Pearl Pen.  Like Dazzling Details, it takes a while to dry but is so worth the wait!  When you first apply the liquid, it looks just like white glue.  As it dries, it softens and starts to look just like a pearl.  Unfortunately, we don't carry them, but you can find them on Amazon.

The ends of the greeting banner were punched using the Banner Punch from Sale-A-Bration.  Just insert a strip of paper 1/2-5/8 inches wide into your punch as pictured below:

  5. Lovely card, Beth. I love the fact that this punch is 'sideways'. Made many banner tails with it.
