Out of My Comfort Zone

So what makes this out of my comfort zone?  Well, the style is a bit different for me.  This is the first time I've used sequins on a card. :)  Plus, I'm continuing to experiment with Blendabilities.  I think some people have an artistic eye and will easily sit down and create beautiful, blended images.  Then there are those of us who need to practice our creativity.  That's what I did again this afternoon.

I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler blendabilities on this card (and Old Olive for the stem).  I started by putting a layer of the lightest Daffodil Delight blendability on the entire flower.  Then I added a Cherry Cobbler Center.  Next came alternating medium and light "flicks" of Pumpkin Pie.  I went back over everything again with the lightest Daffodil Delight blendability.  I wanted just a little bit of contrast on the outer edges of the petals, so I used the Color Lifter and "flicked" from the outside edges toward the center.  It's really a matter of trial and error plus layering.

Did you notice the washi tape at the bottom of the tag?  It's from the Season of Style washi tape that is currently on the Clearance Rack for just $1.99!
