Age Awareness

As soon as I saw the Age Awareness stamp set in the new catalog, I knew it would be on my first order.  It has a couple of things going for it:  1) it's a photopolymer (clear) set and 2) the words are really cute and current.  I know several people who would get a kick out of receiving a card that says "You look way better at this age than I thought you would."
I've also used some of the new Sweet Taffy DSP as well as the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  You're definitely going to want to keep some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper on hand along with spritzers and ink refills.
To create my Tempting Turquoise glimmer paper, I filled a Stampin' Spritzer with rubbing alcohol and added about 10 drops of Tempting Turquoise ink.  When you spray your glimmer paper, first make sure you have the sprayer pointed at the paper. Disaster will strike if you accidentally have it pointed at yourself.  Next, lightly spray the glimmer paper.  Light, even coats will prevent the mixture from pooling on the paper.  You can always go back and add more layers of color.  One other reason you're going to need Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper....snowflakes!  How pretty will those be with this gorgeous paper?
Just a couple of tips:
1)  I used a piece of "fun foam" under my paper when I stamped. Worked like a charm with the photopolymer stamp.  You can purchase it either at a craft store or Walmart.
2)  You can mount both stamps on a single block; however, I wanted mine a little closer together.  For some reason, it was easier to get them lined up straight if I stamped the "Age Awareness Day" phrase first.
Here's everything I used:

  1. Hi, Beth! I found your card when I was doing an image search for this stamp set for a card camp I was holding. I love this card! It's so colorful and cheerful! I don't have that DSP, but I may have to order some. My design looks nothing like yours, but I wanted you to know how much I liked your card. And I appreciate your tips on coloring the glimmer paper. Thank you for sharing. I'll have to visit your blog again! :-)
