Endless Birthday Wishes - FMS140

I don't know about you, but the older I get the harder it is to adjust to schedule changes like the end of school.  I like our schedule (except for the 5am wake-up call), so having a go-with-the-flow summer is a challenge. It's only been 3 days, so hopefully we'll find some sort of routine. :)

This card features a little bit of old and little bit of new.  The "old" is the Retro Fresh washi tape that I just opened (bad me).  The "new" is the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set.  This set was so popular that it sold out very quickly.  Don't worry, Stampin' Up! is working on restocking so it shouldn't be long before it's available again.

I decided to "watercolor" the cake.  After several failed attempts with Very Vanilla card stock, I pulled out the watercolor paper.  What a difference paper can make!  I used blender pens to color the image and used the lids of my ink pads to pick up the ink.

The cake image was punched out with the 1-3/4" circle punch.  I used a circle framelit (1-7/8") for the Bermuda Bay layer.  The starburst (2-1/8") was cut with my Silhouette Cameo using the MDS starburst punch file.

Tip:  I stamped the "Happy Birthday" greeting first, so I would know where to place the washi tape.  I started with the bottom piece of tape and worked my way up.

The layout is this week's Freshly Made Sketches #140.  Here's the actual sketch:
