When I heard that the June My Paper Pumpkin kit had what I would consider party decorations in it I thought....hmmm, I'm not having a 4th of July cookout this year. What can I do with these? Then I had another thought...my mom and aunt visit local nursing homes on a regular basis. How cute would these be to give to the some of the residents for a little bit of Independence Day fun? Plus, I was heading to VA for a visit, so why not take the kit with me and make them with my aunt?
One of the fun things about the My Paper Pumpkin kits is that they are portable...easy to take with you on vacation for a little crafting time. Everything you need is included. However, since this wasn't my first kit, I didn't have a clear block in my box to mount the "celebrate" stamp (you receive a clear block with your first kit). So, I improvised. I used the bottom of an old juice glass. It worked like a charm!
My aunt and I had so much fun making these. I think after each one we made, we had to stop and say, "how cute!" Everything was precut, and holes for the center brad were already punched. Plus, I still have 24 treat bags, a spool of baker's twine, cute clips, glue dots, ink and stamps to use on future projects!
Here is a video that show two projects that can be made with the kit. Use your imagination to come up with more.
