Celebrate Today Birthday Card

Happy New Year, everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and your new year is off to a great start!  My New Year started off this morning with sleeping late.  That doesn't happen too often anymore, so it was a real treat.

It's going to be a fun beginning to 2015 with the launch of the new Occasions Catalog on January 6th.
This card was made with the Celebrate Today Stamp Set and coordinating Balloon Framelits.  It's a CASE of a card on page 10 of the catalog.  I didn't include the rhinestones 1) because the card is for my brother-in-law and 2) I don't have them. :)

The black strips are glued to the Whisper White layer. It was a little tricky cutting those strips perfectly straight...therefore, mine are not perfect!

I did run into a little trouble stamping the "string" for the balloon.  This is an instance where you shouldn't use fun foam underneath the Photopolymer stamp because you'll get smudges if you press down too hard.  The best way I found to get a crisp image with this very thin image is to turn the paper and stamp sideways to stamp horizontally rather than vertically.  Don't rock the stamp!

Here's everything I used:

Celebrate Today Photopolymer Bundle

     8-1/2x5-1/2 Card Base
