Mixing the Old with the New - Birthday Banners

Inspiration:  I had one sheet of this retired Birthday Bash DSP left from a couple of years ago, and I knew it would work great with the Birthday Banners stamp set.  It's so pretty because some of the confetti is gold foil.  This layout can easily be used with the paper you have on hand.

  • You'll need to stamp the candle portion twice to make the candle longer.  It's really pretty easy to line it up.  Plus, the banner covers the seam if you have one.
  • I used a piece of Post-It tape to mask off the "to the" words on the Happy Birthday stamp. Place the Post-It tape over "to the," ink the stamp, remove the tape and stamp.
  • Curve your stamps to match the shape of the banner.  I laid my clear block on top of the stamped banner and then positioned each stamp on a block.  Even though the words are backwards, they still lined up fine when I turned them over to stamp.
  • It doesn't show up in the picture, but I used clear Wink of Stella on the flame.
  • The banner is popped up with dimensionals.
