Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #253

Inspiration:  It's been forever since I participated in a sketch challenge.  I came across this Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #253 and decided to give it a try.  I strayed a little from the original sketch because my tree is to the side instead of the center.  I just couldn't seem to make it work in center with the greeting options I have, so I scooted it to the side.

Tips:
  • The large square was made with washi tape and the herringbone technique.  There are several really good herringbone technique videos on YouTube.  Most use patterned paper, and I think that's probably easier than washi tape.  It was a little difficult cutting a nice, straight edge on the end each time.  If it's crooked, then it's noticeable because you're butting it up against a straight edge.
  • The scalloped oval is popped up with dimensionals.  The star and gold strip are adhered with glue dots.  I placed a tiny drop of multipurpose glue in three of the tree "holes" to adhere the gold "ornaments."
