September 2016 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Project - REDO

Note:  This is a "redo" of my post from yesterday (which I've deleted).  I thought the sunflower looked a little odd on my card...the center seemed too big.  Well, there was nothing wrong with the stamp, but there must be something wrong with my brain/eyes. LOL I was only stamping one layer of the petals instead of two layers.  What a difference!  I'm liking this version MUCH better.  I've added an extra tip and Delightful Dijon Stamp Pad to the supply list.

Inspiration:  I just received my Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail yesterday, saw the sunflower stamp and became determined to make a card with sunflowers.  What this picture doesn't show is all of the failed attempts.  How hard can it be?  Oh well, I'm happy with results and what better way to spend the afternoon than stamping...even if the trash can is filling up. LOL

Tips:
  • Cut (2) 1-inch strips of DSP to save paper.  Adhere them to each side of a 3-1/2x4-3/4 piece of of Whisper White.
  • The center piece is popped up with dimensionals, and I used Clear Wink of Stella on the flower centers. The ink was still a little wet, so I was able to blend it a little with overlap on the petals.  Plus, the Wink of Stella makes the Soft Suede color look so much richer.
  • The tag was made with one of the Bunch of Banners framelits.  The design is actually on both ends, so just cut one end off to make a tag.
  • The small tag needed a small "hello."  Since the Paper Pumpkin kits sometimes have small words, I went through my stash and found this one from the August 2015 kit.  I tend to keep the PP stamps that I really like and give the rest away.  I store the ones I keep (as well as the ink spots) in our "full" wide stamp cases.
  • When two-step stamping with a light and dark color, if possible, stamp the darker color first.  It'll be easier to see the stamped image when you're stamping with the lighter ink vs. the other way around.
