Beautiful You Birthday Card

Finally...a coloring technique that I really like. I used my clear Wink of Stella with ink from my stamp pads to color in the image (not my idea...saw it on Pinterest).

  • The Wink of Stella is your paint brush. Squeeze the ink pad while closed to get ink on the lid. Pick up the ink from the lid with your Wink of Stella "brush."
  • Clean the tip of your Wink of Stella brush on a scrap piece of paper before switching colors (just like a blender pen).
  • The first time I stamped the image, I used watercolor paper. It seemed like the color was drying too fast on the paper and not blending much at all, so I switched to our new Thick Very Vanilla card stock.  Much better!  (The color may have been drying faster because I added rubbing alcohol to my Wink of Stella to get some more mileage out of it.)
  • The main image is adhered with dimensionals.  The squins were attached with a little multipurpose glue. There's a glue dot behind the bow.
  • I attached the DSP strips to a 3-3/4x5 piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  It's much easier than trying to line up the paper directly on the card base.
