45 Baby Thank You Cards - DONE!

My niece (in-law) reached out to me this week about making some thank you cards for her since she has a couple of baby showers coming up. I had already been thinking about making some for her and had this design in mind. When I asked how many she needs, she said 45 and I said...sure! I'll see her the first of August, so I was pretty sure I could complete them if I worked on them a little at a time over the next few weeks. Well, I actually surprised myself and finished them within a couple of days just working on them here and there.

It wouldn't have been possible without my MISTI! I used it to quickly stamp the greeting on each card. I also used it to stamp all of the onesies.

First, I placed a 4-1/2x6 inch piece of copy paper in my MISTI and stamped the image in the center. When you're using this method, be sure to NOT move the stamp from the MISTI lid. You need it to stay in the exact same spot so it'll stamp in the exact same place every time.

Next, I took a scrap piece of card stock and die cut a onesie. Using the negative piece of paper, I lined it up around the stamped image in my MISTI and used magnets to secure it to the base.

Then all I had to do was place my onesies that I cut from Whisper White card stock inside the template and stamp! As long as the turquoise card stock didn't move (which it didn't), it stamped correctly every time. Since this stamp has a large solid area, at times I need to stamp twice...no problem since the die cut piece fit right back in the template.

I would have obsessed over lining up the stamped image with the framelit if I had stamped first and then cut. This took the guesswork out of it. In addition, I was able to cut my pieces for each card...the "blank" onesie, flower and hanger...with one pass through the Big Shot. That was the most difficult part because my back and neck get sore these days from too much bending over the Big Shot. I put it on the kitchen counter which helped to have it up a little higher and I did about 10 passes at a time so I could take a break in between.

It just couldn't have worked out better. In addition to completing them so quickly, I only used supplies that I have on hand. I had some of our Whisper White note cards but not quite enough, so I cut the extras from our Thick Whisper White card stock. I have a LOT of extra note card envelopes from my pre-MISTI days when I'd goof up the note cards and toss them so I'm covered on that front, too.
