Sweet Cupcake w/Reverse Masking

I've had the Sweet Cupcake stamp set since spring, and it didn't see ink until today! Now that I made this card, I wish I would have given it some attention much sooner. My inspiration was various cards I've seen on the internet using the reverse masking technique.

Tips:
  • To create the circle, I cut a piece of copy paper 4-1/4x5-1/2 inches and a piece of Whisper White (my card front) also 4-1/4x5-1/2 inches. I used the larges circle from the Layering Circles Framelits to cut a circle in the copy paper.
  • Then I placed a little Dotto removable adhesive on the copy paper and adhered it to my Whisper White piece being careful to line up all the edges.
  • Next, I used our sponge brayers to add ink.  I started with Sweet Sugarplum over the entire circle then added some Berry Burst in the bottom half.
  • Finally, peel off the copy paper to reveal your perfect circle. It's so much fun to see the finished product!
  • I cut down the card front to 3-3/4x5 inches. I had gotten a little ink on the edge of the card stock when I was brayering, so trimming it took care of that issue.
  • I used the following colors for the frosting. I'll list them with the corresponding stamp number which is printed on the clear packaging with the stamp set.
    • Stamp #1 - Berry Burst Full Strength
    • Stamp #2 - Sweet Sugarplum Full Strength
    • Stamp #3 - Sweet Sugarplum Stamped Off Once
  • The colors for the frosting are:
    • Stamp #1 - Basic Gray Archival Full Strength
    • Stamp #2 - Smoky Slate Full Strength
    • Stamp #3 - Smoky Slate Stamped off Once
  • I placed a vertical line of Dotto on the circle to hold my ribbon in place until I added the cupcake using dimensionals.
  • The sequins are adhered with the awesome small glue dots that come with the Paper Pumpkin kits. They're perfect for sequins because they're not as thick as our mini glue dots.
  • I used a glue pen and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to add a little sparkle to the frosting.
  • "Wish" is adhered with Multipurpose glue.
